Sessions will cover the contents of the A-Level English Language syllabus provided by the school’s chosen examining board (e.g. AQA, CIE). There will be a strong focus on grammar and essay writing skills, using the examining board’s past papers as the key resource in lessons. By using past papers as a focal point for exam preparation, these sessions will serve to build confidence and time management skills ahead of the actual exam.
Additionally, students will be introduced to academic material beyond the scope of the A-Level syllabus to inspire the maturation of their own writing style. The ability to display an understanding of relevant academic texts will also enable them to target the highest marking bands in the examination.
